Road Trip: Torquay to Lorne
Destination Lorne. Left Torqauy for Bells Beach, popular surfin spot, tell u now u wudnt get me on a board out there, the waves were 2/3 - meter waves, good view of the coast though, me and some of the other climbed the "Do not Climb, Dangerous Cliffs" sign (first of many) to get better pics of the area. Laura and Jo went for a paddle in the sea (Jo denies it but im sure i saw him go in). We all ran bk to the van because heavy rain started to come in. We then wen back to Torquay becasue Wayne had to pick uphis coat that he accidntly left there, after this straight to Anglesea were I used the Geny for the
first time in the carpark to boil the kettle for a cuppa. We then headed to Split Point Lighthouse at Airleys Inlet (this is the Lighthouse from Round the Twist and also some Mad Max films were also filme here...some trivia for you) Finally got to Lorne (first stop Tourist Center, very helpful) We then went to Erskine Falls, very impressive, and being the good british tourists we are, we had to try and climb all over it, however Canadian Mike went for a slip rite under the falls, was funny.
Me,Wanye and Adam trekked on down the river to another Waterfall called straw falls, equally as pretty before heading bk to the vans. After the dramatic drive out of Erskine we drove to out camp destination at Big Hill, but as we drove straight past it and ended up bk in Lorne we headed for Sharps Camping Park, 7k out of Lorne up the steepist, windiest, bumpiest roads ive ever driven on. Got the Generator on so we had some light, and me and Jo started to make a fire even though it was raining, every1 said "we'll never do it" and wanted nuthin to do with it, but with abit of intervention from Wayne and mine and Jo's persistance we got a inferno going!!! everyone soon huddled round the fire and we all got smashedfaced...again :)
